Tanaya Parakh is the first teenager from Kolkata to be selected to represent India in the 25th Asian Juniors Squash Championship. Conversing with Jiyo Bangla, the talented lady said, “Squash is more like rejuvenation for me. Playing the sport taught me several things like how to deal with taught situation, pressure, anxiety, laziness and boredom.” The Squash Rackets Federations of India (SRFI) said Tanaya will represent India this year under 19 categories. The class 12 student from Modern High School for Girls made not only her parents but Bengal proud too. It is the first time in Indian squash that two sisters from Kolkata, Tanaya and Taggya Parekh got into the national team for the Asian Juniors.
