In a country full of cricket lovers, there are very few people who do not watch cricket. Indians don’t just love to watch the game of cricket but also takes interest in the stars who are involved in the sport. The film 'Sabbas Mithu' has been made based on the biography of such a great star of Indian cricket – Mithali Raj, the former captain of the Indian cricket team. Mithali dreamt of becoming a cricketer when she was only 8 years old and had to face many obstacles in the journey of fulfilling her dreams. Popular Tollywood director Srijit Mukherjee is bringing the unknown chapter of Mitali's life to the big screen with the film 'Sabbas Mithu' where actress Tapsi Pannu has played the role of Mitali Raj. Before portraying the character of Mithali Raj, Tapsi Pannu underwent several practise sessions with cricket coach Nurshin Al Quader in order to play the role of a professional cricketer in the film. The shoot used to take place every day for 12 hours straight and for the rest of the time Tapsi used to practice herself, wearing cricket gloves, helmet and leg guard. Earlier, biographies of Mahendra Singh Dhoni and Azharuddin were made and were well accepted by the audience. This is the first time that a biography of a female cricketer is being made. Besides Srijit, another famous Bengali acting personality Mumtaz Sarkar has acted on this film and will be portraying the role of cricketer Jhulan Goswami. The film 'Sabbas Mithu' has released on the big screens on July 15.
