Q: On the occasion of Birth Centenary Celebration of Shri Satyajit Ray, ‘Abar Kanchenjunga’ will be released on the silver screens. A lot of celebrated faces will be seen in the film and you are one of them. How does it feel to be a part of the team?
A: A lot of talented artists are acting in this film and the name of Shri Satyajit Ray is involved with the project so I’m very happy to be a part of it.
Q: The trailer of the film contains various moments of a family which are full of emotions, what do you want to say about the plot?
A: The trailer of the film shows a family which has visited their ancestral home at Darjeeling and meets each other after a long time. The turn of events that take place after the family meets up is shown in the film. I’m playing the character of a non-Bengali girl in the film and the film also shows how she manages herself in the Bengali joint family.
Q: Is there any commonality between the reel and the real you?
A: Not actually.
Q: You have worked with a lot of senior actors in this film, how challenging was it for you?
A: All of the actors I worked with in this film were seniors apart from Sohini. I had worked with Apu da and Tanushree Di earlier as well. But this was my first experience working with the others. There was a scene in which I had to create an intense situation in front of the whole family and I was really nervous that day.
Q: Whom will we see in the film alongside your character?
A: Gaurab Chakraborty will be seen acting alongside me in the film.
Q: Both you and Gaurab da are fond of adventurous activities. So what all activities did you both take part in during the shooting of ‘Abar Kanchenjunga’?
A: We had a lot of fun. We were there for almost 12-13 days. We got married just a couple of days after returning from shooting. The whole team stayed up late post shooting for two days and we all were singing and having a lot of fun. It was a fun outdoor shoot.
Q: What did Gaurab Da say after watching the trailer of the film?
A: Well, he did not comment much about others but he said that I look great in the film.
Q: Most of us usually have a lot of memories with Kanchenjunga. What did it remind you of during the shoot?
A: I have visited the place thrice before shooting. But this time I experienced a lot of new fun moments.
