Since Band Baaja Baaraat sparked the fortune of Anushka Sharma in Bollywood, Tollywood filmmakers, who often import Mumbai actors for local ventures, had an eye on the actress.
No doubt, ace Tollywood filmmakers are trying hard to include Anushka in the forthcoming ventures, although they are unsuccessful till date. It has been learnt that producers of director Harish Shankar's next film starring Allu Arjun are eager to sign up Anushka to play the lead role.
A member of the film's casting crew shared that the filmmakers approached the actress, but things went off-track as there was an issue with the price and dates.
Anyway, that wasn't the only Telugu film offered to Anushka. Actually, the makers of Mahesh Babu's next project, Aagadu planned to rope her in, but had to search for other options, as things did not materialize.
No doubt, Anushka was the first choice for an untitled NTR Jr-starrer in hand. However, in both the cases, it is revealed that the actress' exorbitant price tag resulted in some hesitation.
A casting manager, who was a part of negotiations for Anushka, recently commented that it seems every renowned filmmaker wants Anushka Sharma in his project. However, like with other Bollywood actresses, including Sonam Kapoor as well as Deepika Padukone, the negotiations failed to proceed at the mention of the pay packet. It is known that these Bollywood actresses are said to quote three times more than what a top Tollywood actress like Kajal, Samantha or Tamannaah would charge.
In fact, only time can say whether Anushka can enter Tollywood or play hard until Tollywood hands over the expected moolah.
