With due aid of our West Bengal Chief Minister Smt. Mamata Banerjee, state is capable of hosting another year of Handicrafts Fair popularly known to all as “Hastashilpa Mela” (হস্তশিল্প মেলা). Since years the fair was conducted in” Milan Mela prangan” opposite to Science City. But this year with proper infrastructure the entire event was shifted to Eco Park in New Town.
The fair started on 18th November 2017 and will continue till 10th December 2017. Most of the stalls are run by the artists of Bengal themselves. Apart from selling the beautiful artworks, this has become a golden platform for the multiplication of business. Opportunities have cropped up for the both the sellers and buyers. People from various crooks of the state are trying their level best to appear for the fair on the last month of the year.
Winters have always been special for all the art lovers especially those who desire to give their own houses a totally new depiction. The micro and small scale industries have taken initiative to organize the event efficaciously. Bengal has always been a rich mine for art and culture, therefore the promotion of these industries have endorsed the growth of not only business but has given a different taste to the aficionados.
