On 30th October, the West Bengal cabinet decided to provide 15 acres of land to the All India Football Federation (“AIFF”) on lease for 90 years in exchange of Re 1 only, to help set up the National Centre of Excellence.
AIFF President Praful Patel said that, a National Centre of Excellence for football will be set up with the land, at Rajarhat New Town in Kolkata, with help from FIFA.
