Veteran Actress Tanuja Was Admitted To The ICU On Sunday, How Is She Now?

Renowned veteran Bollywood and Tollywood actress Tanuja was admitted to a Mumbai hospital on Sunday, facing a serious health setback at the age of 80.

Currently under intensive care at the ICU, sources reveal that the hospitalization is due to age-related health issues. However, reassuringly, medical professionals are closely monitoring her condition, and she is reported to be stable now.

The actress, renowned for her versatile performances, has been a prominent figure in both Hindi and Bengali cinema. Born in 1943, Tanuja Samarth stepped into the world of acting alongside her sister Nutan in the 1950 film 'Hamari Beti'. It was in the early '60s that she acted with her mother, Shobhana Samarth, as a director in 'Chabili'.

Tanuja further solidified her place in the industry with lead roles in movies like 'Baharen Phir Bhi Aayengi', 'Jewel Thief', 'Haathi Mere Saathi', 'Mere Jeevan Saathi', and 'Payal Ki Jhankaar'.

Apart from Hindi cinema, Tanuja's presence in Bengali films has also been noteworthy. In 1963, she portrayed the character of Sucharita in the popular film 'Deya Neya', receiving acclaim for her performance with famous actor Uttam Kumar. She continued to leave an indelible mark with movies like 'Anthony Firingee', 'Tin Bhubaner Pare', 'Prothom Kadam Ful', 'Rajkumari', and many more.

The sudden hospitalization has raised concerns among her fans, as the actress has been an influential figure with an illustrious career spanning over six decades.

Tanuja married director Shomu Mukherjee in 1973. They had two daughters, Kajol and Tanisha, who are also actresses.

Despite the health challenges, Tanuja remains an enduring symbol of talent and resilience in the world of Indian cinema.
