A new sleeper version of the Vande Bharat train launched on 1 September. Now, passengers can travel overnight on the Vande Bharat Express.
Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw inaugurated the Vande Bharat sleeper train at the Bharat Earth Movers Limited factory in Bengaluru. Although there are 41 Vande Bharat Express trains operating across the country, this is the first time a long-distance sleeper version of Vande Bharat has been introduced. This is a semi-high-speed train.
Sleeper Vande Bharat Facilities:
• The train has 16 coaches.
• Among them, 11 are AC three-tier, four are AC two-tier, and one is AC first class.
• 11 AC three-tier coaches have a total of 611 berths.
• The four AC two-tier coaches have 188 berths, and the AC first-class coach has 24 berths.
• A visual information system is available.
• There are display panels.
• There are security cameras for safety.
• Advanced restrooms are available for differently-abled passengers.
• The train features advanced fire safety systems.
• To prevent accidents, the 'Kavach System' is used on this train.
Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw said, now the sleeper coach train will be run for testing and trial purposes.
