When it comes to health prevention is better than cure. An estimated 300 million people died from smallpox in the 20th century. Vaccination has taken treatment to a different level because it prevents deadly diseases. Vaccination programs have been organized from November 29 to December 22 to protect children and adolescents from vaccine preventable diseases like measles and rubella. Congenital rubella syndrome (CRS), responsible for irreversible birth defects. An initiative has been taken by the officials of Kaliagon Block Health Department ( North Dinajpur) for the betterment of the people. An awareness programme was scheduled on Monday afternoon where the officials talked about the upcoming vaccination programme. The representatives of the panchayat committee, Kaliaaganj Panchayat Samity President Dipa Sarkar, Vice President Tapan Debsingha, Joint BDO Sammal Das, BMOH Dr.Debashish Bala along with other members of the Panchayat Samity and health workers attended the event. The officials are hoping that the children and the adolescents will be benefited and this will play an important role in preventing deadly diseases
