UNESCO Kick Starts World Heritage Week In Darjeeling

To be onboard the Toy Train of Darjeeling has been a craving among the tourists. To be able to travel through the beguiling landscapes and steep mountains in mini coaches being pulled by a steam engine, brings back nostalgia and creates a worthwhile experience. UNESCO on Monday, in a bid to preserve the heritage in the hilly region kick started World Heritage Week. An awareness workshop conducted involved both school and college students, and a ride was offered to Ghoom and back. The initiative is taken on account of spreading the importance of our heritage to the younger generation, while at the same time inviting more tourists to Darjeeling. More exciting and innovative activities are to follow in this week long campaign.
