In a grand affair that captivated Tollywood enthusiasts, director-actor Parambrata Chatterjee and social worker-singer Piya Chakraborty formalised their union on Monday, November 27. The social media buzzed with excitement as the newlyweds shared glimpses of their registry wedding held at the Jodhpur Park residence in Kolkata.
The "ParamPiya" duo, synonymous made their off-screen commitment official, surrounded by family and close friends. The registry, a private affair, marked the beginning of their journey as a married couple, and Parambrata shared the joyous moments on social media. Sharing the photos, Parambrata wrote in the caption, “Let us go then, you and I When the evening is spread out against the sky. This is it.”
However, amidst the celebration, the mention of Piya's previous marriage to musician Anupam Roy in 2015 became a point of interest. The couple announced their separation in 2021 through social media, and within two years, Piya found herself entwined in a new chapter with Parambrata.
The registry ceremony marked the beginning of ParamPiya's journey, with Parambrata donning vibrant Brownish Panjabi attire and Piya looking elegant in a red-bordered white saree. The couple shared glimpses of their special day on social media, showcasing the simplicity and warmth of their private celebration.
Despite the absence of many industry colleagues at the wedding, Parambrata and Piya received blessings and good wishes from Tollywood stars such as Raima Sen, Mouni Ghosh, Gourab Chakraborty, Anindita Bose, Subhashree Ganguly, Vikram Chatterjee, Srabanti Chatterjee, Saurav Das, Tanushree Chakraborty, and many more.
In a post-wedding interview, Parambrata expressed his joy about starting a new chapter in life. He emphasised the decision to keep the wedding private, with only close family in attendance, aligning with Piya's desire for a more intimate celebration. The couple hosted a reception party at their Bhowanipore residence in the evening, with Parambrata donning a white Punjabi suit with a blue Nehru jacket and Piya choosing a stunning blue saree, portraying a perfect blend of tradition and modernity.
The reception was attended by family members, including actor Ritabrata Mukherjee and actress Anusha Vishwanathan from Piya’s side and business partner and director Aritra Sen from Paramabrata’s side reflecting the couple's strong ties within the entertainment fraternity.
Parambrata, in response to questions about life post-marriage, remarked that it felt as natural and beautiful as one could expect. He emphasised the importance of keeping their marriage private, sharing that only close family members were present at the event. The actor-director thanked his well-wishers and revealed plans for a larger celebration with industry colleagues in the near future.
