‘Tiger Zinda Hai’ released among much fanfare in Kolkata earlier today. With all tickets sold out prior to release, fans in Kolkata waited with bated breath to finally see their movie idol back in action.
Prior to the movie’s release, hundreds of fans gathered in masses around the movie halls clutching posters of Salman Khan while ‘Tiger Zinda Hai’ posters were being worshipped with garlands, coconuts, lights and agarbattis since early morning. Going by what most cinema halls in Kolkata looked like, for his fans, Salman Khan is God.
Fans excitement hit the roof with most of them singing and dancing to Salman Khan hit songs before the movie started with all of them greeting and hugging each other in front of the movie halls.
Babu Shaw from New Alipore, Kolkata, is so crazy about Salman Khan that he now sports a cool haircut which reads as ‘Tiger Zinda Hai’. After watching the movie, he was of the opinion that the latest Salman movie is a blockbuster of epic proportions and will be collecting well above Rs. 500 crores in the first week!
Post screening of the movie; judging by Kolkata movie goers’ responses, Salman Khan seems to have bounced back like a wounded tiger to claim his rightful position as the ‘Sultan’ of Box Office.
Moving on from Kolkata, one of the top movie and trade analysts of the country, Taran Adarsh tweeted “Finally…Packed morning shows greet#TigerZindaHai…Boxoffice on fire”.
He further added that the movie is a “BLOCKBUSTER” and said that the movie delivers what it promises – “king-sized entertainment”.
“Tiger Zinda Hai should have at least Rs 35 crore start on its first day. Since it is a Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif starrer, I wouldn’t be very surprised if the film crosses the Rs 100 crore mark by the end of the first weekend,” said another trade analyst Girish Johar.
