National Awards ceremony is the talk of the town now and the event has faced the wrath of critics to a great extent. It was a sullen atmosphere in Delhi on that day where almost 55 awardees stayed away from the ceremony. Kaushik Ganguly cleared that they were not the protestors but just a part of the quiet movement.
We all know that National Awards is actually called the President’s Awards and it has a great value! Kaushik Ganguly and Atanu Ghosh took the flight on Friday and returned to Kolkata just because they preferred to be an absentee rather than being a protestor.
“A Films Division official told us that the medals and citations will be sent to us by post, as is the case when an awardee remains absent. The invite clearly states that the awardee cannot appoint anyone else to accept the award on his behalf! And since we were absentees and not protestors, we expect the normal protocol to be followed in this regard,” said Indrani Chakraborty who holds the credit of Best Adventure Film in the non-fiction category for “Ladakh Chale Rickshawala”.
