The dream & Dare Concert is a presentation of the inner strength that every person possesses. It is the journey of challenges and faith that every individual has within himself/herself that makes them win these challenges. The Sapphire Quarterly Arts Series completed its 32nd quarter with the Sapphire Annual Gala.
This was the 25th year of the Sapphire Dream & Dare concert. The year 2017 has been a roller coaster ride for Sapphire with various International and National dance concerts to explore and win hearts with their works.
The Dream & Dare concert was segmented into seven parts. The program started off with ‘Phantom of the Opera’ which depicts the story of love and loss followed by a special performance by ‘ICanFlyy’, where children suffering from Autism, Down Syndrome, Cerebral Palsy, Intellectual challenges and learning disabilities performed on their theme song. Riddhi Sen who had been a student of Sapphire since class 4, shared his emotions about Sapphire followed by ‘Chaiwala’ which narrates a story of the transformation of a tea seller. On the sixth was a chain of performance by the smallest section of Sapphire. The Dream & Dare witnessed a special performance by Mainak Paul who happens to be an ex-student of Sapphire as well as the winner of India’s Got Talent season 6. The performance by Durga and Friends was a special one where orphaned and homeless girls performed. Chitrangada is a shelter created by RupakSaha, the owner of Shyam Sundar& co., which is for the homeless and orphans. The concert ended with the Sapphirescope who performed pieces from 1999 to date.
The Dream& Dare concert is a motivation to every induvial. The initiative taken by Sudarshan Chakraborty is worth applauding. We wish the power-packed dancer more success and power in the near future.
