Doctors and patients tend to have a very professional relationship with them, which resulted in a communication gap and lack of trust in doctors. It is very important for patients to trust their doctors, there have been incidents where the people have beaten up doctors and vandalized hospitals. So to mend this gap, the medical students came up with a unique idea to approach the common people and win their hearts.
When the would-be doctors were asked about this initiative they said that they have seen their seniors and interns being brutally beaten up by mobs. The students prepared for this flash mob for two weeks and the idea was conceived during their three-day annual fest called Crux. Last week the medical students of the Institute of Post Graduate Medicine and Research Institute (IPGMER) aka SSKM, performed a flash mob at Nandan and surprised the visitors there. In the middle of their performance, they put up posters saying “Keep calm and trust us”, “always happy to help”, in an attempt to build a healthy and happy doctor-patient relationship.
