Tata Motors is set to unveil its newest vehicle, the Tata Curvv, offering multiple options including electric, petrol, and diesel variants. Initially rumoured to be the flagship launch for Tata Motors in 2024, the unveiling has been postponed until the festive season.
Reports suggest that the electric variant will be launched first, followed by petrol and diesel options.
Scheduled for launch in September of the current year, the Tata Curvv EV is anticipated to provide a range of 450 to 500 kilometres on a single charge, thanks to Tata's new Gen 2 Acti.ev architecture. Additionally, the vehicle will feature various connectivity features across all variants.
The petrol variant will sport a new 1.2-litre turbo petrol engine, available with both manual and automatic transmission options. On the other hand, the diesel variant may utilise Nexon's 1.5-litre, four-cylinder diesel engine.
However, the excitement doesn't stop there. Apart from EV, petrol, and diesel variants, Tata Curvv may also see another variant hitting the Indian market: the CNG variant. This version could extend the length of the vehicle to 313 millimetres compared to the Nexon. Moreover, Tata Motors aims to achieve an annual sales target of 80,000 units.
Collaborating with Stellantis, Tata Motors continues to lead in the electric vehicle sector, boasting models like the Nexon EV, Tigor EV, and Punch EV.
While the launch was initially anticipated in June, Tata Motors has decided to delay the event to ensure smooth delivery and production operations. Nevertheless, Tata Motors has another surprise in store for enthusiasts: the Tata Altroz Racer Edition, featuring a 5-seater hatchback with sporty aesthetics, a sunroof, and smart connectivity features. Pricing details are yet to be disclosed.
