The International Society for Krishna Consciousness better known as ISKON, registered way back in July 1966 in New York presently has over 23,000 foreign devotees. On Wednesday, 7th February two giant “Sudarshan Chakra's” were fixed on the top of the Temple of Vedic Planetarium. The devotees included Alfred Ford, who played a pivotal role in the construction of the temple and is a disciple of Srila Prabhupada who is the founder of ISKON in the 1970's. Alfred Ford even has a spiritual name, 'Ambarish Dasa' and is even the great grandson of Henry Ford.
The larger chakra weighs 1,500kg with a diameter of 23 feet and a height of 8 feet while the smaller one weighs 500kg with a diameter of 10 feet and also has a height of 8 feet. The Chakra's have been constructed by a devotee who is an engineer in Russia. These Chakra's are made of steel and is plated with gold have been christened as Radha Madhav and Narasimha Madhav.
