For the first time in his career; award winning director Srijit Mukherjee is all set to direct a film which has not been scripted by him. Ever since his directorial debut for the movie Autograph (2010), Srijit has written the script for all films he has directed. The filmmaker recently announced a film titled as “Gouranga Itikatha”, the script for which is written by Shibashish Bandhopadhyay and produced by Rana Sarkar. The director has roped in actor Jisshu Sengupta to play the title role of Chaitanya Mahaprabhu for the project. “I decide on the cast of a film as they fit into the characters and I have chosen Jisshu as, I think, he will be easily accepted by the audience in the role,” said Mukherji.
As per reports, most part of the movie will be shot in Puri and music will play an important role in it.
