A street corner in Mumbai was named ‘Sridevi Kapoor Chowk’ on October 12. This naming was done to honor the late Bollywood actress Sridevi Kapoor. The inauguration ceremony was attended by her husband Boney Kapoor, younger daughter Khushi Kapoor, various political leaders of the city, and other members of the film industry.
Sridevi was one of the most popular stars in the Bollywood industry. She delivered several blockbuster films to the Hindi cinema world. Some of her most significant films are ‘Chandni,’ ‘Lamhe,’ ‘Nagina,’ ‘Sadma,’ ‘Mr. India,’ ‘ChaalBaaz,’ ‘English Vinglish,’ and many others. She also worked in several regional films in Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, and Kannada. She received the National Award for Best Actress for her last movie was ‘Mom.’
However, on February 24, 2018, at the age of just 51, the actress passed away in Dubai. She was attending a family wedding when the tragic incident happened. Now, nearly six years after her passing, a street corner in Mumbai has been named in her honor as ‘Sridevi Kapoor Chowk.’ This event brought joy to her family members.
