The Regional Meteorological Centre at Alipore predicted a spell of a thunderstorm on Wednesday and Thursday due to a Nor-wester. The city got a relief from the scorching sun on Tuesday afternoon, the sky was cloudy but there has been no rain yet. The thundershower will also hit several parts of South Bengal also. The sun has not been that kind, the rain will provide some relief from the heat and humidity. It is only March but the temperature is giving the feel of mid-summer. The MET earlier reported that the sky may remain overcast today on Tuesday but there are no chances of rain. The senior official said,
A Nor-Wester is likely to hit South Bengal in the afternoon hours of next Wednesday and Thursday along with a strong breeze. The situation will start improving from Friday.
The weather has been changing over the past few days the Nor-Wester season is finally here. The rain will give us respite from the heat as it has already become quite unbearable for us.
