A new airline 'Shankha Air' is set to launch in the country. It will be the first airline to be launched from Uttar Pradesh. The company's goal is to connect smaller towns via air routes.
'Shankha Air' is a part of Shankha Aviation Private Limited. There are many towns where air services are not well-developed. Because of that 'Shankha Air' aims to provide air connectivity to such regions. The Ministry of Civil Aviation of the central government has already approved this company. But DGCA (Directorate General of Civil Aviation) has still not given the permission for the airline.
This company will operate a full-service airline. Initially, they plan to start services in cities like Lucknow, Varanasi, and Gorakhpur. The company's main offices will be located in Lucknow and Noida. They aim to focus on domestic flights. Initially, they plan to operate the New Generation Boeing 737-800NG narrow-body planes.
Shankha Air is headed by Shravan Kumar Vishwakarma. In 2022, he established 'Shankha Agency Private Limited,' which dealt with construction materials, lead, and ceramics. Their headquarters is located in Lucknow. The other two other directors of the company are Anurag Chhabra and Kaushik Sengupta. The company claims that its main goal is to provide high-quality services at affordable prices.
Notably, Shankha Aviation Private Limited was registered just 11 months ago. The company’s Corporate Identification Number is U51100UP2023PTC191522. The share capital of this private company is ₹50 crore. It is expected that the general public will be able to avail of 'Shankha Air’s services within the next few months.
