Salt Lake Sector V is all set to become a clean and green zone, courtesy a joint initiative of the Nabadiganta Industrial Township Authority (NDITA) and the IT hub stakeholders. The IT hub has been divided into five zones, in order to ensure that the entire Sector V is regularly cleaned and no garbage is allowed on the roads or on the vacant plots. A small NDITA team will be formed to monitor each zone. NDITA will be providing a vehicle for the inspection, and each team will consist of a junior engineer and a representative from the cleaning agency to inspect the cleanliness of the roads. The ‘unique initiative’ taken is in line with chief minister Mamata Banerjee’s vision of a clean and green city, engaging the committees at the grassroots. The zone-wise cleaning initiative has been welcomed by the IT executives also.
