Choreographer Sudarshan Chakravorty is on a roll here, organizing back-to-back international shows, and is now all set for the Indonesian event. The dance academy, headed by Sudarshan, has been chosen by the Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR, New Delhi) to participate in the tour that would cover four cities of Indonesia. The event is scheduled between December 16 and 24, and India would be represented by a 10-member team and the performances would be in cities of Yogyakarta, Bali, Jakarta and Meden, and others. Apart from indoor performances, the performers would also display their art in open public spaces to engage more spectators. The venues also involve university, community schools and parks to name a few. In order to present Indian culture and heritage, not only the arts community of Indonesia would be involved, rather the mass and the common people would experience an exotic flavor. The dance group will be presenting Sapphirescope, a unique blend of dance, music, visuals and fusion, contemporary, heavily influenced by Rabindranath Tagore’s literary work and Uday Shankar in dance and costumes. The 70 minute spectacle would surely mesmerize the audience, an optimistic Sudarshan is confident about it.
