It is truly not impossible to measure your stress limit in the workplace. Do you know that a simple saliva test can prove your stress level? If you are measuring the level of cortisol, the anti-stress hormone, at different times of the day, you can easily make out the exact amount of stress you are handling at your workplace.
According to the reports of the researchers, “People who were identified as having a high level of work-related stress had noticeably higher cortisol values at midday and also in the evening”.
“Research shows that the most stressful type of work is that which values excessive demands and pressures that are not matched to workers’ knowledge and abilities,” stated World Health Organization.
If you consider healthy people, their cortisol level rises in the morning because that is the time when the body produces the hormone. It inevitably drops in the evening. People who are under stress constantly have higher cortisol levels and the chronic stress keeps the hormone present almost all the time.
