A new virus is increasingly affecting the human body, causing illness in both adults and children.
The name of this new virus is RSV (Respiratory Syncytial Virus). It is primarily an infectious virus that causes respiratory infections. Of these people have breathing problems. While RSV can affect people of all ages, it is particularly harmful to children. The detection rate of RSV among children aged 0-5 ranges from 2.1% to 62.4% in India.
The number of cases is rising rapidly. It has been found that children are contracting this virus from adults in their households. However, it causes inflammation of the small airways in children’s lungs, making it difficult for them to breathe.
Primary Symptoms of RSV:
a. Sneezing
b. Fever
c. Cough
In very young children, it may also cause fatigue and difficulty breathing.
Doctor's Recommendations:
1. Maintain cleanliness.
2. Wash hands with soap or Handwash after returning from outside.
3. Wear a mask.
4. Seek medical advice if necessary.
However, no vaccine or specific medication is available for RSV. Therefore, extra precautions are essential to recover from this illness safely.
