DREAMS: which most of us envisage with closed eyes whereas few keep their eyes wide open to achieve the reels on real. But very few of us are cognizant of the realistic aspects of this industry. Young aspirants come down to Kolkata from not only the outskirts but also from distant villages to Tollygunj “studio para” with a ray of hope to become the next superstar of the season. It is viable that many of them hardly meet the rudimentary acting assets. But it is also probable that few come out to be a deserving applicant too.
No wonder, I am sure the throwaway of the portfolios and curriculum vitae has been going on since ages but a sudden post by the eminent media personality Mr Debapratim Dasgupta goes viral on social media few days back. “বেশ কিছু মুখ,ছবি|রাস্তার ধরে ময়লা সাফ করতে ফেলে দেওয়া|লোকজন মাড়িয়ে দিয়ে চলে যাচ্ছে,খুব খারাপ লেগেছে তাই”says Dasgupta. The post was pooled by not less than 700 people on social media. He was asked whether he expects any change, he comes up with much logical interpretation, “রেপ,রাহাজানির খবর ছাপলে কি বন্ধ হয়?কোথাও এতজনের কাছে বিষয়টা নাড়া দিয়েছে,ষ্টুডিওতেও আমায় বলেছে,আশা করি আগামীদিনে কেউ এভাবে রাস্তায়ফেলে দেবেনা|খারাপ লেগেছে বলেছি,আবারও বলব,এমনিতেও তো রাগ কারো কম নেই|”
“প্রথমত এই ছবিটা দেখে খুবই খারাপ লাগছে!(First of all, this picture is very disheartening.) “দ্বিতীয়ত, আমার জননী সিরিয়ালে বোধহয় এর থেকে দুগুণ বা তিনগুণ ছবি আমার ষ্টুডিও অফিসে জমা পড়েছিল|আমরা সব ছবি এলবামে রাখতাম|অনেক নতুন ছেলেমেয়ে ওই এলবাম থেকে কাজও পেয়েছে|আজ হয়ত তারা বিখ্যাত|সিরিয়াল শেষ হয়ে গেলে সব এলবাম প্রোডাকশান অফিসে জমা দিয়ে দিয়েছিলাম!” (secondly, most probably for my megaserial JANANI, double or triple of the whole lot was submitted by the candidates. We used to keep them in albums. A number of new faces got opportunity from the lot. Few of them are renowned faces today. After the completion of the serial we submitted all the albums to the production office.) Says Bishnu Palchaudhuri, the director of the first made regional megaserial in India “JANANI”
Of all the shares and discussions, all we expect is slight change in the mentality of the common juncta along with the media personalities. Things probably would not be different; there will be repetitions of the same scenario altogether, yet dreams to achieve the reels on reality remains the only hope for many aspirants.
