Saraswati Puja is a very happening festival to the Bengalees and they enjoy every bit of it. This is celebrated in almost every house but what are the makers opining about this year’s sell?
As we talked to the makers of Sarswati idol in Kumartuli, they came up with the view that Saraswati puja is preponed this year; therefore winter is still running through the spines. It is becoming quite difficult for them to cope up with the chilled weather this year and make idols staying awake overnight. For the last 15 days it is necessary to stay awake for the entire night and complete the making, but this extreme cool weather has made it dreadful.
The price of the idols has increased to a certain extent this year because the range of the bamboos, straw, pins, nails have augmented to an inordinate extent. Therefore the business seems a bit doomed this year, yet we found most of the idols were already on their way to the respective houses, schools or colleges.
