Indian poet Ranjani Murali who is currently settled in the United States of America recently received the 'Woman's Voice Award' at the Apeejay Kolkata Literary Festival (AKLF) held between 18-20 January. The award carries prize money of Rs 1 Lakh which was awarded to her on the last day of the literary fest on Sunday, January 20. 'Prabha Khaitan Woman's Voice Award' is awarded with an objective to recognize and encourage creative writing by women in India, to support the publication of their writing and to create a forum for their literary works. Some of Murali’s noted works are 'Blind Screens' and 'Clearly you are ESL' which was earlier awarded ‘The Great Indian Poetry Collectives (GIPCs) Editor’s Choice award’.
