Ramoji Rao, the famous media tycoon and the founder of Ramoji Film City, passed away on Friday night, i.e., on June 7 in Hyderabad while receiving medical treatment. On June 5, the 87-year-old was brought to a hospital in Hyderabad because of problems with his breathing and high blood pressure. There, up until his passing, he had been receiving treatment.
For many people, Ramoji Rao was also known as Cherukuri Ramoji Rao. He founded Ramoji Film City, the biggest film studio in the world, in 1996. He also owned a media company called Ushakiran Movies. He won national awards and produced films in a number of languages.

Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, on the other hand, expressed her sadness at hearing the demise of media tycoon Ramoji Rao.
