The Calcutta High Court on 31st January vacated a stay order on a notification of Telecom Authority of India (Trai) that it is mandatory to switch over to an a la carte system of channel subscription. Calcutta Court ruled that the new system will be affected from midnight of February 6. A group of 80 cable operators was moved by Trai right after the decision was made. The court asked the cable operators to enter into an agreement with their MSOs by February 7.
