Presidency University gets a second campus in Rajarhat which is all set to open its gates in the month of July 2019. The vice-chancellor Anuradha Lohia has announced that the construction of the second campus of the university is complete and classes would commence from July this year. According to many officials, the second campus will have advanced study centers - school of astrophysics, school of biotechnology, school of public policy, school of informatics. The Rajarhat campus will comprise two 14 story buildings to house academic blocks. Lohia said,
In the upgrade of our infrastructure, we have had scientists from the Indian Institute of Science, University of Hyderabad and Delhi University come and examine our labs. And the report they have given is that that they are better than (those of) any centrally funded research institute.
Presidency now ranks between 101 and 150 on the top list of Universities.
