On 13th July 2018, Debajyoi Mishra, the eminent music director held an interactive session of his recent release ‘Mati’ with Adil Hussain and Monami Ghosh at Oudh 1950. The movie released on 13th July itself and has left an abiding impression on the audience by now.
‘Mati’ directed by Leena Gangopadhyay and Saibal Banerjee has touched the heart of many as it deals with the hidden emotions of the Bengalis who were once residents of Bangladesh. Most of the aged viewers recollected their childhood days in Bangladesh after watching the film and ended up with tears of joy and memories. Today’s generation also related their grandmother’s story of the distant land.
“We were elated to get Adil for the character and when we shot for the film finally, he turned out to be indispensable. Leena thought no one but Adil could play this role” says Debajyoti Mishra.
“I feel nobody is indispensable in this world,” said Adil Hussain. He was asked if it is possible for him to think ‘The Godfather’ keeping aside Marlon Brando. “Right now it is not possible to think because it has gone inside the cells. Had he not been there, somebody else would have done that. Talking about acting, every actor should give their best in such a way that the viewers feel that nobody could have done it better. The way Jamil is described in the story is fabulous and after I heard the story I even asked Leena if it is the story of her life” added Adil.
