Kolkata’s very own ‘Padman’, has now come up with a mobile application which will provide locations of public toilets with sanitary-napkin vending machines. 23-year-old Shobhan Mukherjee came into the news when he started distributing sanitary napkins at the pay and use toilets in 2017. Shobhan with the help of two software developers developed this application. The app will give locations of the toilets which have these vending machines. This will save time. Shobhan said,
“Women feel embarrassed and hesitate to go to the commonly known, manned and often crowded stationery shops or medicine outlets”.
The entire initiative is a part of his ‘Project Bandhan’. The sanitary napkins are priced at Rs. 2 which Shobhan wants to sell at Re. 1 in the near future.
