This festive season, the North-Eastern Frontier Railway has introduced some special trains with the passengers' convenience in mind. After Durga Puja, to fulfil the demands of travellers, the North-Eastern Frontier Railway has decided to run two more pairs of festival special trains.
According to the information, these festival special trains will operate between Kamakhya-Gorakhpur and Katihar-Mumbai Central. Starting from November 10th to December 1st, 2023, train number 05082 (Gorakhpur-Kamakhya) will depart from Gorakhpur at 15:05 and arrive at Kamakhya the next day at 15:00. On the return journey, train number 05081 (Kamakhya-Gorakhpur) will depart from Kamakhya on November 11th to December 2nd, 2023, at 21:00 and reach Gorakhpur the following day at 17:30.
On the other hand, train number 09189 (Mumbai Central-Katihar) will operate for eight trips from November 11th to December 30th, 2023. It will depart from Mumbai Central at 10:30 and reach Katihar the next day at 07:30. The return journey, train number 09190 (Katihar-Mumbai Central), will operate for eight trips from November 14th, 2023, to January 2nd, 2024. It will depart from Katihar at 00:15 and reach Mumbai Central the following day at 18:40.
These festival special trains will have 2-tier AC, 3-tier AC, sleeper class, and second seating coaches, totaling 22 coaches. However, despite the introduction of these special trains, there is high demand, and waiting lists are extensive. In response to this, the North-Eastern Frontier Railway has announced plans to add more trains and coaches to enhance passenger convenience.
Sabyasachi Dey, the Chief Public Relations Officer of the North-Eastern Frontier Railway, mentioned, "Detailed information regarding the schedules and timings of these trains can be found on the IRCTC website and will also be communicated through various newspapers and the social media platforms of the North-Eastern Frontier Railway. Travellers are advised to check the detailed information before planning their journey."
With these new festival special trains, passengers in West Bengal and the surrounding regions will have more convenient travel options to enjoy the upcoming festivities.
