Nick Jonas and Priyanka Chopra’s Roka ceremony was all about tradition and style. The event took place according to Punjabi tradition at Priyanka’s residence in Mumbai, on Saturday morning. It was a private affair with only close friends and family in attendance.
An Indian wedding is filled with exciting ceremonies and rituals! The Roka ceremony is considered to be one of the most significant and auspicious pre-wedding ceremonies in Indian weddings as it’s the first step towards marriage.
Nick had already proposed Priyanka in London early this year, the Roka ceremony solemnised their engagement in front of their parents. Both the families gathered together for the first time and exchange sweets and giftswith each other and also they blessed the couple who will soon be getting married.
Nick and Priyanka were dressed in traditional attire for the ceremony, with Nick wearing a pristine white kurta pyjama and Priyanka wore a yellow salwarkameez with white detailing. Even Nick’s parents, Kevin Sr and Denise were in traditional Indian cloths. According to reports, they were very enthusiastic about the rituals.
