New Town to have new safety measures

Four intersections - The New Town bus terminus, the Novotel Hotel, the Chinar Park Crossing and the Biswa Bangla Crossing have been selected where topographical survey would be conducted on issues of subways and vehicular underpasses construction. The plan has been set up by The Housing Infrastructure Development Corporation(HIDCO) to ensure the safety of pedestrians and traffic management. These vehicular intersections have become very vital since the traffics have increased in these roads. The proposal was ideated after HIDCO held talks with BidhannagarTraffic police earlier. A 24 hour traffic survey will be held on the selected traffic intersections. A survey of drainage system would be done also to eliminate the problem of watter logging in the underpasses.
