New Town is busy decorating itself. The fifth edition of the New Town Book Fair will be organized at the New Town fairground from December 21 till January 1. This year for the very first time the book fair will be held along with the New Town fair. Both of the fair will be organized by NKDA and the New Town Boi Mela Samity.
The attraction of this fair will be a national poetry festival in association with Sahitya Akademi. Poets and Authors from different genre and states will exchange ideas and experience under one roof. New Town book fair secretary Kakoli Mitra said the Bookfair was inaugurated by Kolkata mayor Firhad Hakim. At the inauguration ceremony, Bidhannagar Municipal Corporation mayor Sabyasachi Dutta will be present. The book fair which will anchor at New Town Mela Ground will bring more than 130 stalls in 2019.
