The south-east railway has started a special drive to stop people from spitting on a railway station. Some passengers have already been caught for spitting and the passengers have been fined Rs 100 each. One of the officials of this zone said that the operation is being carried out by to make passengers aware. A fine amounting to13,000 rupees was imposed for passengers and there were penalties for passengers without tickets. The last operation was carried out in the Howrah Station's New Complex area.
