The Fisheries Department going to cultivate Boroli fish in a big way. The decision to cultivate Boroli fish came up in question over the years due to its sudden drop in percentage.
To bring back this fish in Kolkata’s market, the Fisheries Department took the initiative to start cultivation since last year. To solve the problem of numbers, the department has come up with a process to cultivate the hatchings in lakes. A special hatchery will be constructed in Tufanganj-1 the block of Cooch Behar district.
