Food trucks have come a long way since the days of candy-floss, ice-creams or selling burgers and hot-dogs. Today there are food trucks for every cuisine one can think of, be it the cute looking tart cupcakes or Turkish baklava or even Vietnamese lip smacking chicken tacos. Why to merely limit oneself to the same old chicken wings and burgers from KFC or a double cheese burst pizza from Pizza-hut when we have tons of food to choose from the fresh menu of food trucks in Kolkata?!!
Speaking about the “moving food store” a.k.a Food Trucks, Kolkata is not lagging behind. With food trucks becoming a rage all over the world, the city of food lovers has something similar to offer. We bring to you five such “famous” food trucks in Kolkata which are worth a try:
1. TFT- (That Food Truck) has been introduced by advertising professional Aditya Jaiswal who needed to travel the city for work related purposes; and he seldom found any “pocket-friendly” hygienic meals across the city. So what did he do? He launched TFT which remain parked in Salt Lake. Their Paneer Burgers, Chicken Grills and Mutton Galouti Burger are to die for.

Time: 12p.m. - 2 a.m.

2. Thank God It's Fresh – While all of us love the old favorites KFC and their fried chicken with spicy sauce, at some point it gets monotonous and boring, chewing the same food over and over again. ‘Thank God It's Fresh’ promises to deliver you fresh food. It sticks to the 3 F's “Fresh, Fun and Fantastic” which is the main motto of this food truck. Among other items, the truck also serves chicken grilled sandwich and chicken cheese balls. The best part is that the menu keeps changing every single day and the ingredients are fresh and healthy. We suggest you to try the strawberry and chocolate pancakes.

3. Cooks on Wheels – Most people have heard about this food truck, and if you already haven’t, then rush to the nearest metro and get down at Esplande metro station. From fried-fish to chicken noodles, you will find everything and won’t be disappointed.
Venue: Esplande near Big Bazaar.
Time: 4p.m. - 10:30 p.m.
Price: Rs. 200 for two.
4. Agdum Bagdum - Don't tell me you haven’t spotted this yellow-blue magical carriage of food. The truck is run by married couple Babumani Sardar and Dola Santra and is quite famous near Sakher Bazaar. Challenge your taste buds by trying - Burritos, Ecstasy Fish Fry, Chicken Kabiraji Burger and many more.
