The West Bengal Government has decided to launch an integrated mobile application for over 200 services that the government provides. This initiative is being taken in order to make it easy for the people to know about all the services that the government of West Bengal is providing and also to avail them without any hustle. The contract of developing the application has already been given to Ernst & Young, however, the state Department of Information Technology & Electronics will be supervising the operation. Ramesh Mishra, Director Advisory Services, Ernst & Young said,
There are as many as 100 services available under the e-district programme of the state government. But it is not integrated in the manner it should be. Services like birth certificates, land records and many other essential services that the Bengal government is offering will come under this app
A senior official of state IT&E department said,
We will start with the integration of 50 services offered by the state government and gradually proceed towards our target of over 200 such services. We hope to launch this app with 50 services in this ongoing financial year
The State Government already has several ‘Tathya Mitra Kendras’ situated across the state to inform people about the government services, but this integrated application will make it much easier for people willing to access the information.
