The talk on “Playing makes stronger, smarter, healthier and happier kids. Are we pushing them into academics too soon?” began with Former principal of Don Bosco School, Park Circus, Father J. Pathickal, he spoke about the importance and need of games for children.
According to Father J, “Kids today are born with extra chips in their brains and their parents are pushing the boundaries too hard. We all need to introduce more modern technologies in class and need to change the way of the education system that is being practised in Kolkata. Our goal is not just to pass on information, but to ensure overall development of the child.” The thought-provoking discussion on academic and parental pressure on students was attended by working mothers, Educationalist and IPS officers.
