Migratory Birds Photography Exhibition at Rabindra Sarobar

How about we go bird watching before the winter trails away? You needn’t trek to Joka or Howrah, Rajarhat, Baruipur-mullickpur for it either. There are a few good bird-watching sites close to home. Every winter the Dhakuria Lakes and the Safari Park attracts a surfeit of migratory birds from places like the Himalayan foothills, Siberia even China.

Speaking about bird-watching sites, the arrival of more migratory birds is an indication of the region’s rich biodiversity.

To showcase such progress the Lions Safari Park along with the Biodiversity of Rabindra Sarobar group, organized a photographic exhibition of rare and fairly regular migratory birds that make the Dhakuria Lake quite a viewer’s paradise. Those migratory birds make a pit stop before heading to Southeast Asia, and on their return journey back to the northern hemisphere. The Secretary head of Lions Safari Park told Jiyo Bangla, “We organized this exhibition to educate the people. These photographs are marvellous and we want to set a permanent stage.” Even Bird Photographer and wildlife enthusiast Saurav De conversed with Jiyo Bangla.
