Winter brings joy and festivities and when the celebration becomes uninterrupted due to the availability of conveyance, the excitement knows no bound. For the first time in its history of 34 years metro rail of Kolkata, trains will run late on the night of Christmas Eve, Christmas Day and New Year eve. The last train will leave park street (Kavi Subhas bound) at 11.28 pm and 11.40 pm (Dumdum bound). The ticket counters will close three minutes earlier. The services will open from 8 am instead of 6.45 am on these days. Compared to 2017 metro service, this year the services will be 300 in number, 190 more than the previous year. Between 2.45 pm and 10.20 pm, the metro service will be at a frequency of seven minutes. The movement in the entry and exit will be managed very promptly.
