On 22nd December 2017 Oxford Bookstore, Park Street came up with the contest that put up the budding talents and musicians from the selected colleges and universities of Kolkata. The theme of the gala event seemed interesting to all and young talents took special effort to present few beautiful works this evening based on “She’s always a woman to me”. Distinguished figures like Mainak Bumpy Nag Chowdhury, Ratul Shankar and Gaurav Chattopadhyay were present on the judge’s panel.
The evening studded with a variety of performances by the teenagers filled the entire bookstore with melody and pleasure that went conjointly. The compositions were in three languages: Bengali, Hindi and English. The entire team of Apeejay Kolkata Literary Festival found no other better option for celebrating their love for literature and Kolkata itself. Maina Bhagat, the Director of Apeejay Kolkata Literary Festival was elated to be present there among the students who paid true tribute to the entire music and poetry genre.
The students came up with their best performances, though few needed to be more prepared before presenting themselves in near future. Not only the poetry and music, the bookstore was pregnant with the instrumental music performance by few students. They executed the entire thing quite brilliantly and almost everyone longed to achieve the best two positions. An Ode to Apeejay Kolkata Literary Festival offered more than what visitors expected and they have more to come pretty soon. Apeejay Kolkata Literary Festival will be offering the first two rank holders an opportunity to undergo a recording session with Plug in partner and they will bag the chance to perform in the Apeejay Kolkata Literary Festival 2018 Poetry Café right after their second day contest is over.
