After Binodini-Ekti Natir Upakhyan, director Ram Kamal Mukherjee’s next film is ‘Lokkhikantopur Local’. He is bringing an entirely new type of film for Bengali cinema lovers.
The film is directed by Ram Kamal Mukherjee, and produced by Sangita Sinha under the banner of Angel Creation. Sangita has taken on the dual role of actress and producer in this film. The film's lead cinematographer is Ayan Sil and its music is composed by Manish Chakraborty.
‘Lokkhikantopur Local’ brings together renowned stars from the Bengali film industry, including Rituparna Sengupta, Kaushik Ganguly, Paoli Dam, Chandrayee Ghosh, Indranil Sengupta, Sangita Sinha, Shaurya Bhattacharya, Sayani Ghosh, Rajnandini Pal, and Debasish Mondal.
The film deals with stories from different walks of life and professions, beautifully depicted through costume designer Poulami Gupta's precise outfit selections. Veteran art director Amit Chatterjee, who previously worked with Ram Kamal on his Hindi short film Broken Frame, has joined this project as well. Additionally, editor Pronoy Dasgupta and associate director and casting director Paawaan Agarwal are also part of this film.
The film was shot in various locations in West Bengal. Director Ram Kamal Mukherjee shared his thoughts on the shooting process, saying, "It is an honor for any director to work with such skilled actors who know their craft well. From Kaushik da to Ritu di, from Paoli to Chandrayee—everyone delivered exceptional performances, and together, we presented work of the highest quality."
