How to reach: If you are travelling by air, then Bagdogra is the nearest airport. From there you will get rented cars to reach Lepchajagat in Darjeeling. It is not more than 19 kms from the main Darjeeling. If you prefer train, then NJP is the railway station where you need to get down. Otherwise, you can also get down at Ghoom station. From there it is only 8kms drive to Lepchajagat.
Where to stay: If you are visiting Lepchajagat, then you can always opt for the forest bungalows. These bungalows are run by forest department of West Bengal. WBFDC will offer you a good stay with all the modern facilities in their bungalows. As it is not a much updated place, there you can face problems in finding hotels. The best way is to book the bungalows of forest department beforehand.
What to see: If you have actually managed to get some time from your hectic schedule for Lepchajagat, then there are few things that you must not miss. A forest safari is must because there you will get to watch the rhododendrons, pine and oak trees, Sunrise point in Ghoom rock and most importantly the spectacular view of the Kanchenjunga Mountain. If you get time for a Darjeeling tour, then visit the zoo and other local attractions.
What to eat: You will get typically healthy Bengali food in Lepchajagat forest bungalow. Those are homemade and delicious too.
