While the football fans are rooting for their favorites, it seems Cristiano Ronaldo is now back in contention for La Liga’s Golden Boot for this year. Starting the season in a leisurely manner, the Real Madrid star displayed his intense expertise by plundering four goals against Girona on Sunday. His replenished form in front of goal has not only catapulted him to the position of the second top scorer currently in La Liga, bettered only by Messi (by a margin of three goals), but has also fuelled debates amongst critics on the upcoming Real Madrid vs. Juventus game.
As per reports, the spectacular upturn in goal scoring form is attributable to a bet that Ronaldo wagered with his teammates, wherein he promised to eliminate the gap between him and his Argentine rival, Messi, and also asserted to finish the La Liga season with the Golden Boot. Ronaldo missed the first four league games owing to a suspension he was slapped with in the Spanish Super Cup.
Real meet Juventus in the quarterfinals, and are pumped up to make it to the semi-finals. If Ronaldo’s bet is to be taken into consideration, Ronaldo might put up an outrageous show of skill yet again.
