To make the citizens of Kolkata prepared for the season, designer Chandari Mukherjee launched her Spring-Summer 2019 collection. The event was held at Weavers Studio,94 Ballygunj Place and the fashion show was graced by actress Sreelekha Mitra. Most of the summer prints were on pastel, light orange, off-whites and shaded blue. While warmer days signal the beginning of relaxed activities- like barbecues, sudden plan of an impromptu gateway, poolside parties and more- it also brings with it that one annoying question: What the heck to wear? The young designer brings forth some creative traditional, Indo-western attire.
This brilliant designer has dropped her summer collection- neatly compartmentalized into different themes and designs mostly sarees for different occasions. The best part is, the visionary designer skipped the traditional navy, black, and grey. Speaking with Jiyo Bangla, actress Sreelekha Mitra said, “This is a good fabric. I mostly aim for bright and loose clothes. This saree is absolutely brilliant and Chandari crafted some brilliant fabric. Curve or not-so curve, wear what you feel like.
