Kolkata witnessed one of the best annual dance performance and theatre show by a city-based dance academy Applaud. The ninth anniversary of the institution observed the participation of kids from the refuge, orphanage, and students from Applaud along with other schools. Applaud encouraged little champions and divas to highlight their talents in front of the world and get due recognition.
The event was graced by chief guest veteran diva Smt. Sharmila Tagore, Mr Shashi Ranjan convener ITA, Mrs Anu Ranjan, organizer of NGO named BETI, social activist Temsutula Imsong, Gaurav Gera, actor, Activist Inder Bajwa, Sandip Sachdev, actor, Arjun Prajapat, Yashraj Yadav, along with 600 parents, 300 students and other eminent social workers. Mr.Jaideep Singh, the Director of Applaud was also present during the concert.
Chief guest Sharmila Tagore said “I always love to come to Kolkata; today is Tagore’s birthday and he will be always present in our souls. I am mesmerized after seeing these little kids dancing so well. When I was 13 years old I entered the industry under Satyajit Ray’s guidance. It’s very good that underprivileged kids who would have never dreamt of getting the opportunity to face the world and showcase their talents are being helped.”
‘I inspire 2018’ is an initiative of Applaud under the guidance of Jaideep Singh. The institute has been winning hearts and standing up for social causes every year with a unique theme in association with the oldest orphanage of Kolkata ‘The Refuge’ to make their annual concert more meaningful.
